So, I'm a scada (supervisory control and data acquisition) programmer, or a controls system programmer, or whatever the next fancy term will come up in the next year or two. And I was doing nothing but programming and troubleshooting for the past 3 or 4 years, with a little network and SQL database hoonja-doonja magic thrown in occasionally. Until I took on this new job, which has turned out to be much more.... physical... than I expected. Climbing over and around and through field equipment, sticking screwdrivers into things electrical, puzzling over drawings in the hot dry dusty sun. Plus - back to constant travel, another thing I'd put aside 3 years ago. Also, I'm female, in my late 40s, married (for the 2nd time) to a wonderful man. We collect books and read extensively. I love to cook and especially to bake. Also, to eat.
