We are going to have to move (again) this fall. The news devastated me for a week or two, but now I'm inured to it. The upshot is: we have too much stuff. If we start now, packing/moving/unpacking will be easier in 5 or 6 months.
1) digitize all the CDs
2) get rid of the furniture currently in storage
3) check out storage options for books, wine, frozen meat.
Is there any point in even hanging our art? This makes me sadder than anything, I think.
I want three Ivar end pieces and 16 bottle racks! I would give you cash money, and yet you say NO!
I lived in states that did not adhere to this crazy daylight savings time business (Indiana, Arizona) until I was 38. I flail about, if I think too hard about what the time does. And, this morning? I had the day off, let myself wake up whenever I woke up, took a look at the clock: 6:45. Well, that's not so bad. A bit of a lie in, for someone who is up at 5:30 every other morning (I'm a slow starter and like to gently ease into my day - I meet up with the remainder of the crew in the hotel parking lot around 7).
But then, at the computer while the water is heating up for my first cup of tea, I notice the clock says it's 5 something. Huh. Must've looked at the bedroom clock wrong.
It wasn't until 10:30 (or 11:30) (or, hell, maybe 9:30) that I realized the time had fallen back down. I had to phone Mr. Jaq, either to announce it or seek validation of my observation. "The time changed!!" "Yes, I know you hate that." "True." "It's going to be worse next year - the one thing Congress voted in, it's going to run from March to November."
Why bother? Why not just shift everything by one hour all the damn time? I will never believe it makes that much difference. But then, I'm a farm girl at heart.
